Sunday Sauce
Sunday Sauce (also known as Sunday Gravy) is a classic Italian-American tradition - a rich, hearty pasta sauce that simmers all day, filling homes with the intoxicating aroma of stewing tomatoes, fresh herbs, and love. While we can't promise to match your nonna's exact recipe (that kind of magic is impossible to replicate, especially with 6+ hours of cooking), we've conjured up a simple version using our Silly Witch Marinara Sauce Balls. Think of it as your nonna's recipe with a dash of modern kitchen sorcery - all the homemade flavor, none of the labor. Perfect for when you want to create authentic Italian Sunday sauce but don't have hours to spend stirring the pot. This quick and easy Sunday sauce recipe delivers the same rich, hearty flavors of a traditional recipe in just 30 minutes.
Makes 1 Serving of Magic
Ingredients
1 Silly Witch Marinara Frozen Sauce Ball
3 ounces of your favorite ground meat (beef, pork, or veal, choose your own adventure!)
2 oz pasta (fresh or dried, we don't judge)
Steps
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add your meat.
Brown the meat in its own fat, stirring occasionally until browned.
Lower the heat to a simmer and add your Silly Witch Sauce Ball, covering the pot with a lid.
After 5 minutes, stir the mixture to incorporate the meat into your sauce, being sure to scrape the yummy bits off the bottom of the pan and mix it into the sauce.
In a separate pot, bring water to a rolling boil.
Add pasta and cook until al dente.
Add the pasta to your skillet with the sauce and meat. Stir in a splash of pasta water to bring it all together.
Season to your liking with salt, pepper, and spices. We love to add a little fresh Pecorino!
Poof - dinnner is done. Itβs like magic.
